Georgia State Day is your day to show your support for the School of Public Health’s mission to advance health equity through education, research, and community engagement. Ours is one of the most diverse schools of public health in the nation, where more than 70% of students are members of a minority group. After graduation, School of Public Health students go on to make a difference in state and federal agencies, communities, and non-profit organizations in Atlanta and around the world.
Our faculty just set a new record for research and outreach activity, with programs such as the Prevention Research Center meeting the needs of refugees, migrants, and other community members. Faculty in our Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development translate research findings into evidence-based programs that prevent and address child developmental delays, child maltreatment, and sexual assault, while also helping enhance quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This Georgia State Day, we are calling on you to help support scholarships for promising students as well as critical public health research and outreach. Join us as work toward better health for everyone, everywhere.
