What is Georgia State Day?

Georgia State Day (#TheStateDay) is the university’s annual day of giving. Since its 2018 start, Georgia State Day has grown each year – more engagement, more excitement and more dollars raised than the year before. 

We’ve barely scratched the surface. How big can Georgia State Day be? How high can we go? It’s up to you, our Georgia State Day Champion – your engagement, your passion, your support!

Georgia State Day Facts:

• Georgia State Day 2023 kicks off at 10 a.m. on September 26 and ends 7:13 p.m. on September 27
• The event’s duration – one day, nine hours and 13 minutes – was chosen in honor of 1913, GSU’s founding year.
• Last year’s giving totals: almost 2,000 gifts raising more than $973,000. 

What is a Georgia State Day Champion?

• Someone who wants to shine a light on the limitless potential of Georgia State and its students
• An individual who wants make a difference in the lives of Panthers
• An alum, friend, faculty or staff member, student or parent – people just like you
• Someone willing to promote Georgia State Day, e.g., post and share on social media, send email, make a call, send some texts, etc.
• A person who will tell others in their day-to-day lives about the great things happening at Georgia State, about the university’s incredible potential and how supporters can help unlock it.
