The Department of Respiratory Therapy trains respiratory therapists to work in cooperation with physicians caring for patients with a wide range of breathing disorders including asthma, emphysema, pneumonia and lung infections, cystic fibrosis, and breathing difficulties due to premature birth. Respiratory therapists play a vital role in the fight against the COVD pandemic. The department offers a bachelor of science and a master of science in health sciences, and an integrated baccalaureate to master’s degree. The RT program in the Lewis College holds a decade-long 100 percent first-time pass rate on the RRT licensure examination and have been recognized by the accrediting body since 2012.
We did it again! With the support of the entire Panther Family, we set many new records this year on Georgia State Day. More than 2,700 gifts generated over $930,000. Donors supported 258 university initiatives and unlocked 54 challenges and matching gift opportunities.
Thousands of Panthers roared to celebrate Georgia State Day. Our fourth annual day of giving has raised more than $823,000 from 2,530 gifts, and we're still counting!
