Institute for Biomedical Sciences
AT THE INSTITUTE FOR BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES, WE’RE TRAINING FUTURE LEADERS AND IMPROVING HUMAN HEALTH.

The Institute for Biomedical Sciences is on a mission to advance human health. Our researchers are making exciting discoveries and tackling some of the world’s biggest health issues, from COVID-19, flu, Ebola, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, inflammatory bowel disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and pneumonia. These talented scientists are developing new vaccines, diagnostics and therapeutics to target critical human illnesses and offer better patient care.

The institute is also transforming education. Our new bachelor’s degree program in Biomedical Science & Enterprise prepares undergraduate students for employment or advanced degrees, providing a strong foundation in science, entrepreneurship, and ethical and legal affairs.

In addition, our world-class research centers provide a stellar training ground for students interested in biomedical research, giving them access to state-of-the-art facilities and instruction from leading researchers in the field.

Our interdisciplinary bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs are tailored to the biomedical industry’s needs, allowing our students to compete for high-demand jobs and become leaders in the industry. Graduates are prepared to work in biotechnology, pharmaceutics, consulting, education, government and other fields.

Join us on Georgia State Day and support our efforts to improve the health of people worldwide and mold the next generation of biomedical scientists and professionals. When you donate to the Institute for Biomedical Sciences, your dollars will fund scholarships, lab and classroom instruction, and cutting-edge research.
