When you designate your #TheStateDay gift to the School of Music on Georgia State Day, it fuels the resilience and flexibility that allows our students to receive an innovative and vibrant music education, even amidst the unique challenges of the ongoing global pandemic.
The School of Music within Georgia State University's College of the Arts is situated in the heart of Atlanta, a thriving hub for culture, arts and entertainment. Our students regularly perform with outstanding professional ensembles, gain valuable teaching experience assisting with local programs, and work in renowned recording and teaching studios. Atlanta also offers Georgia State students unique performance opportunities like the Super Bowl Halftime Show and the hit television show "The Walking Dead." Your gift to the Music Director's Fund supports the full scope of what we do.
We rely on donations from alumni and friends to support students and faculty, expand facilities and organize community performances that complement Atlanta’s and the Southeast’s vibrant music scene. By joining the Friends of Music, you are helping us offer competitive scholarships to the brightest and most talented students, recruit and retain a stellar faculty and support opportunities for students and faculty who travel worldwide to perform, teach, and research.
The GSU University Singers - the University’s most select choral ensemble - has been invited to perform at two professional conferences this year: the Georgia Music Educators Association and the American Choral Director’s Association. Donate today to the Choir Tour Fund to help fund things like the charter bus, music purchases, and hotel costs. Your donation will go directly towards benefiting the dedicated GSU students who sing in and travel with this ensemble.
