Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science is nationally known for research and the success of our graduates. We are recognized for emphasizing interdisciplinary research, from astroinformatics to bioinformatics to cybersecurity. Our student body is diverse and our graduates secure jobs with top employers.

Computer science is the gateway to the future. If you name any problem faced by humanity, it's likely computers will be the key to solving it. Our students are trained to think logically and precisely and develop problem-solving skills, but creativity is a key element of computer science as well.

Another Record-Breaking Year for Georgia State Day!

We did it again! With the support of the entire Panther Family, we set many new records this year on Georgia State Day. More than 2,700 gifts generated over $930,000. Donors supported 258 university initiatives and unlocked 54 challenges and matching gift opportunities.

Thousands of Panthers roared to celebrate Georgia State Day. Our fourth annual day of giving has raised more than $823,000 from 2,530 gifts, and we're still counting!
