The Department of Applied Linguistics/ESL is an interdisciplinary field that integrates many perspectives on the study of human language and focuses on adult language learning, teaching, and use. Students benefit from specialized faculty in second language acquisition, writing, sociolinguistics, language assessment, corpus linguistics, educational technology, and second language teacher education.
Support the Department of Applied Linguistics/ESL this Georgia State Day and join fellow students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends in the study of language and communication in relation to real-world problems such as language acquisition and teaching, language assessment, and improving intercultural communication.
